Hale Products manufactures fire pumps, portable firefighting pumps,
foam products and ventilation equipment (PPV) for emergency services
professionals.
Motivated by the desire to develop a fire pump which would improve
fire protection, Alan C. Hale, E. J. Wendell, and C. H. Young, Jr.
formed Hale Fire Pump Company in 1914. The three founders were all
members of the Radnor, Pa. fire department which had, in 1906,
purchased the first motorized pumper in America. Through their
involvement in the Radnor Fire Department, the three men believed that
the key to building a better pump lay in taking advantage of improving
gasoline engine designs.
Hale, Wendell, and Young designed and built their first pump in 1914.
Christened the "Young Giant" and mounted on a Simplex chassis, the new
pump made its first appearance at the Wayne Opera House fire where it
operated for six consecutive hours, proving its superiority over
existing pumps.
In 1992, Hale joined with the UK based Godiva Group of Manufacturing
companies to form Hale Products Inc. Godiva, formed in 1937, produces
truck mount, custom, diesel, and portable pumps to exacting European
standards. In addition to augmenting and solidifying Hale's
distributor network, the Godiva Group will contribute its technology
and expertise to further support international expansion efforts.
Recently, Hale joined with LUKAS Gmbh, a German manufacturer of rescue
tools, rerailing equipment, and hydraulic equipment. This union will
give Hale a stronghold in rescue equipment in Europe where LUKAS is a
predominant manufacturer of hydraulic rescue equipment.
With the formation of Hale Products Europe, and Hale Products Asia,
the company has committed more resources to serving the important
European and Asian markets. As the company continues its expansion,
Hale remains committed to providing innovative, quality products to
its customers worldwide.
In 1994, Hale was acquired by IDEX Corporation. IDEX is a manufacturer
of proprietary fluid handling equipment. Other IDEX units include
Strippet, Warren Rupp, Lubriquip, and Viking Pump. The synergy created
from this acquisition will enable Hale Products Inc. to expand its
position as the world's leading provider of emergency services
equipment in applications such as defense, rescue, firefighting, and
industry. With well-know trademarks such as Jaws of Life®, Hale®
Pumps, Hurst®, FoamMasterä and CAFSMaster® , products manufactured by
Hale have a high recognition for dependability and quality.

Manufacturer of emergency products for the public safety market.
Products include communications consoles, lighting and prisoner
transports.
The history of Havis-Shields Equipment Corporation is a story marked
by innovation, quality products, and an understanding of customer
needs.
Havis-Shields was founded in Philadelphia, PA in 1928 by Dan Havis and
Jim Shields as a supplier and service provider of heavy-duty
automotive electrical equipment. Through the decades Havis-Shields has
distributed and installed emergency vehicle products and in the 1980s
successfully branched into manufacturing.
Havis-Shields introduced its first manufactured product in 1978, the
Kwik Raze® telescoping light product line for the fire apparatus
market. In 1986 Havis-Shields purchased Collins Dynamics®, a leader in
12-volt spotlight technology to broaden its lighting product line. In
1991, HSEC Caribe was opened as a subsidiary facility in Bayamon,
Puerto Rico distributing and installing emergency equipment and
providing specialty, training services to both Puerto Rican and U.S.
Government agencies (www.hseccaribe.com). Also manufactured by Havis-
Shields, the Consolidator® product line of in-vehicle consoles and
computer mounts, was successfully launched in 1993.
With the success of the Consolidator®, Havis-Shields greatly expanded
its in-house metal fabricating capabilities and now produces K-9
transports, motorcycle lighting systems, and prisoner transport
solutions and other vehicle accessories. Product line brand names
include Kwik-Raze®, Collins Dynamics®, Consolidator®, Questar®,
Magnafire 3000®, and Kwik-Kit to name a few. All products are proudly
made in U.S.A.
Throughout this growth in manufacturing, Havis-Shields has maintained
its vehicle service facility where we have been installing our
products into all types of fleet vehicles for over 30 years. This
invaluable experience lets us identify real solutions and field test
for quality, ease of installation and durability.
Additional services we offer include: needs assessment, installation
recommendations, CAD design drawings, prototyping and engineering
support, knowledgeable sales staff and the various resources to adapt
quickly to project changes.
While the operation of Havis-Shields remains in the Shields family
after three generations, the true growth and prosperity of Havis-
Shields has come from the dedication of its employees and its focus on
top quality customer service.

Manufacturers of protective apparel for EMS and Fire Rescue
Professionals.
Ricochet Manufacturing has the experience few, if any, can match in
manufacturing protective wear to meet the most stringent
specifications. Our background includes more than 20 years of
producing sophisticated high-tech gear for the rigorous and
specialized needs of the military, including combat ground personnel,
fighter pilots and crews, coast guard and commercial aviation, as well
as career and volunteer EMS and fire department personnel. Through
this experience, Ricochet has developed the skills, knowledge and
proven manufacturing techniques to provide the ultimate in protective
wear.
Innovation plays an equally important role in product development. For
example, an exclusive, patent-pending zipper closure design on our EMS
jacket offers the wearer greater protection and performance. The dual
overlap creates a channel for fluid runoff, eliminating the
possibility of direct fluid penetration or wicking through the zipper.
At Ricochet, we constantly strive to do more than just comply with
standards, we try to anticipate them. The new NFPA 1999-2003 standard
will contain requirements for total heat loss through a garment.
Laboratory tests confirm that all Ricochet NFPA 1999-certified
garments already meet this demanding new standard.
From the selection of fabrics to the specially sealed seams to the
types of stitching, every detail is engineered to meet the needs of
the wearer for protection, comfort, and mobility. You can depend on
Ricochet EMS wear to maintain these qualities in the harshest
environments and over long-term use.

Manufactures a lightweight, flexible splint, also known as the pocket
cast.
In 1968, while serving as a trauma surgeon in Vietnam, Dr. Sam
Scheinberg observed a number of problems with the available cardboard,
wire ladder and air splints. They were bulky, lacked reusability and
often caused more harm than good.
Years later, after operating 24 hours without rest, Dr. Scheinberg was
relaxing watching TV. He was chewing gum and rolling the gum wrapper
around his little finger, when he noticed this flimsy material was, to
some degree, functioning as a splint. Sam, a methodical orthopedic
surgeon, had an "Ah-Ha" experience. He recognized that the splinting
properties of the gum wrapper came from its shape.
The next day, he and his wife Cherrie, obtained a thin piece of
aluminum (a large gum wrapper) and coated it with adhesive tape. Thus
came into being the first SAM® Splint. This would have been the end of
the story had it not been for the high-energy Cherrie, who proceeded
to literally chase Sam around the house until he promised to bring the
splint to market. Sam likes to say it was the luckiest ten minutes of
nagging in his life.
Together, starting in their kitchen, Sam and Cherrie began the Seaberg
Company, Inc., manufacturers of the SAM® Splint. In 1985, the first
splint was introduced... which was also known as the "Pocket Cast."
Today, the SAM® Splint is one of the most popular emergency splints in
the world. Truly the standard for prehospital and wilderness care.
The Seaberg Company has expanded their splint line to include products
for hospitals, clinics, doctor's offices and veterinary clinics. They
recently opened a publishing subsidiary and are also providing
accessory items to a new line of products.
Currently, the Seaberg Company has new patents and patents pending.
The goal of the Seaberg Company for the 21st century is to make life
happier and healthier for the end user, by continuing to provide
quality problem-solving products.

Manufactures a range of hot pack products for use in ambulances,
search and rescue and outdoor recreation. Includes product features,
applications and pricing.
The Ultimate Hot Pack was developed by a Wyoming EMT to be used in
very severe and remote conditions where other hot packs fail.
After being involved in a snowmobile rider rescue in Wyoming's Wind
River Mountains the Ultimate Hot Pack was developed.
This rescue took 6 hours, there was a 15 mph wind blowing, and the
temperature dropped from 20° F to 0° F, from the time the victim
wrecked until he arrived at the ambulance.
The patient was suffering from moderate hypothermia and was showing
signs of going into shock. There were 10 of the small liquid filled
hot packs on the rescue sled. Half had frozen and the rest would not
activate due to the conditions.
It was determined an effective hot pack needed to have the following
attributes:
Work at temperatures down to -25° F.
Reusable on scene.
Large enough to effectively warm the patient.
A complete unit that does not require any covering to protect the
patient's skin.
Activates with a wide variety of liquids or snow.
Storable for long periods of time without early activation.
Economical - No Outside Power Source Required
The Ultimate Hot Pack line of products do all of this and More.
Satisfied Customers include:
Army
Navy
Airforce
National parks
Forest service
Ambulance services
Life flights.
