It all began in 1982 when a new business was opened in Clarksville,
Indiana--the Fudge Farm--where 313 flavors of delicious, melt-in-your-
mouth fudge were developed.
Soon after, the business was expanded by entering into a sub-contract
with the food concessionaire at the Kentucky State Fairgrounds. From
then on, the Fudge Farm's delicious, colorful, sometimes startling
combinations of flavors were to be found at every major show at the
Fairgrounds. The shows drew from 25,000 to 150,000 people every
weekend.
From this experience, it was soon learned that there was someone in
every family who could not have sugar. A mission was set to find a
good-tasting, sugar-free candy--a near impossibilty in 1982.
After a two-year search, a sugar-free hard candy that was delicious and
left no aftertaste was finally found. As interest in sugar-free grew,
the fudge-making part of the business was sold and entirely devoted to
