Founded in 1889, the Keystone Steel & Wire Company began in a humble shed on
a rented farm in Dillon, Illinois. Peter Sommer invented a machine that wove
steel wire fence to replace traditional wooden timber fences. This invention
made life easier for millions of American farmers, and spawned a mid western
steel giant.
Around 1925, the first "Red Brand" fence appeared. In a display of modern
marketing savvy, a Keystone employee dipped the tops of Keystone wire and
fence posts in red paint, making the new Red Brand products instantly
recognizable on farms all over America. Today, Keystone still tops off these
products with a coat of red paint -- even the barbs on coils of barbed-wire.
In March, 1988, Keystone fired up its modernized Bartonville rod mill,

The transformation of BC Supply to our current status as one of the most
modern and efficient manufacturing facilities in the Southwest, can be

Since our company's inception in 1988, as a small parts retailer in the
agricultural industry in West Texas, our machine shop and fabricating
equipment has grown steadily. To be able to produce replacement parts for
cotton ginning equipment, a small machine shop was acquired in 1990. The

created an expansion of services to include metal fabrication. At this time,

the seasonal nature of the agricultural industry. The addition of two
Strippit turret head punch presses and two Cincinnati CNC back gauge press
brakes has enabled BC Supply to expand our capabilities for increased
production with an emphasis on precision. Our most recent addition, a
Cincinnati 6' x 12' Laser, has streamlined our burning operations, to
provide an even faster time of delivery. Our existing base of diversified
products includes machined cylinders for John Deere Implements in our

Bigham Brothers has a colorful history as a manufacturing entity, punctuated
by a variety of products and locations. The company originated in Roaring
Springs, Texas in 1933. H.V. Bigham was responsible for the initial start-up
of the company, H.V. Bigham Welding. At that time the primary products
manufactured were cafe stools and tables common to soda fountains of the
time period. The company was relocated to Lubbock in the late 1930's.
In 1967 the name of the company was changed from H.V. Bigham and Sons to
Bigham Brothers Manufacturing, Inc. This name change also signified the
primary product focus to agricultural implements. "R & J" implements were a
line of products developed and acquired by Ross Montgomery and Jack Brogden
that were manufactured by the company. The signature of the line was the
"Crustbuster", later to be known as the "Crustivator", a specialized
cultivator primarily suited to furrow planted crops. Other complementary
tools in the line were Rod Weeders and Cultipackers as well as custom order
specialized equipment.
The May 1970 Lubbock Tornado brought about new changes to the business. The
building on North Avenue H was destroyed and the company relocated to 3601
Globe Avenue. The product line continued to develop with rapid changes in
the agricultural industry. In 1988 the company name became Bigham Brothers,
Inc., as it is currently known. In 1991, Bigham Brothers moved to the
current location of 705 East Slaton Road in Lubbock, from where we currently

For over 40 years, Leland Snow has been manufacturing agricultural aircraft:
first the Snow, then the Thrush, and since 1972, the Air Tractor. These
planes have played a major role in the history of agricultural aviation.
Over 2000 Snow-designed and manufactured aircraft have rolled off the Olney,
Texas assembly line and into the hands of operators throughout the world.
Design work on Snow's first ag-airplane, the S-1, began in 1951 and was test
flown in 1953. It was used for dusting and spraying in the Rio Grande Valley
of Texas and in Nicaragua until 1957. This was followed by the S-2A and S-2B
which were the first models built when Snow moved to production facilities
in Olney, Texas in 1958.
Snow sold his company to Rockwell - Standard in 1965 and was appointed a
Vice-President of the Aero Commander division. During this time, the S-2R
was developed and named the Thrush. The first 100 Thrushes were built at the
Olney Division before the plant was closed and the Thrush production moved
to Georgia in 1970.
Snow resigned from Rockwell and spent the next two years designing the Air
Tractor. Construction began in 1972 on the AT-300, which later became the
AT-301. Air Tractor's first turbine model, the AT-302, was introduced in
1977.
Today, Air Tractor produces about 100 planes a year, with an extensive
product line that includes 400, 500, 630, and 800 gallon capacity planes
powered by Pratt & Whitney piston or turbine engines. Whether utilized for
spraying, seeding, fertilization, or firefighting work, operators choose Air
Tractor because it is regarded as one of the most productive, highest
quality, and cost effective ag planes on the market
