Since its incorporation in 1952, Sort-Rite International, Inc. has
manufactured and supplied specialized automatic shrimp and seafood
processing and handling equipment. Included in the line of standard
machinery are sized graders, receiving wash tanks, inspection belt
conveyors, pack out conveyor systems and table, de-heading systems, Air-
Flo boat unloaders, Aqua-Flo pond harvesting systems, pond feeders, etc.
Technical assistance is offered including complete shrimp plant layout and
design.
About 80% of Sort-Rites total present business is in furnishing new
installations. Expansions and renovations of existing seafood operations
account for the balance.
Since 1984, almost 90% of new shrimp plant installations have been outside
of the U.S.A. Such new operations usually require a full line of several
models of machinery plus ancillary equipment.
Determining the requirements of such new plants depends upon many factors:
1. Is the production going to come from vessels catching at Sea?
2. How many tons or pounds will be landed at any one time?
3. Will product come from aquaculture ponds?
4. What is the average range of sizes?
5. What space is available for the machinery?
The technical assistance needed, in collecting such data and converting it
to machine requirements and an efficient plant layout, is furnished by Sort-
Rite personnel. On site inspection and evaluation is a vital part of the
Sort-Rites worldwide reputation as the problem solver of the seafood
industry.
As the USA became saturated with processing equipment, and as the increasing
demand for shrimp could no longer be met by the domestic fishing industry,
it became clear that the companys future was to be in exporting its shrimp
processing line, and that foreign sales efforts should be accelerated.
At the same time, the companys research and development department began
successful experiments in handling and grading crawfish, snowcrab legs, and
catfish. Also, working with a leading agriculture university, Sort-Rite help
design and build a prototype pepper harvester.

Jabb of the Carolinas, Inc. is a privately held biological technology
corporation formed in 1994. Office, laboratory and production facilities are
located in Pine Level, North Carolina, USA.
Jabb has focused its efforts on the commercial-scale production of a
naturally occurring fungus, Beauveria bassiana (B.b.). This fungus has the
ability to control populations of a wide variety of insect pests. The use of
B.b. as an insect pest control is not new. However, wide spread adoption of
this natural biopesticide as a control material has been slow due to the
lack of commercial quantities that meet the required criteria of purity and
economics.
Jabb has the ability to produce various strains and isolates of B.b. for
most target insect species and environments. And through the application of
novel, proprietary, production technologies Jabb can produce commercial
quantities of B.b. at economical costs and which meet all regulatory quality
requirements.

Established in 1945, Buffalo Turbine Agricultural Equipment Co., Inc. has
been a major manufacturer of large Orchard Sprayers and Dusters, shipping
worldwide, to the US Government, Agricultural and the Mosquito and Bug
control industry. In the late 1980's Buffalo Turbine experienced an economic
decline and was put up for sale. Louis Horschel, owner of Star Lake
Precision Machine Shop at the time, rented a building from the owner of
Buffalo Turbine. Seeing a future with the "Turbine" products, Louis
purchased Buffalo Turbine in 1990. Although business remained steady with
the Turbine Sprayer market, Louis wanted to expand the "Turbine" to other
markets. In September of 1996 the idea to develop a powerful leaf (or
debris) blower was put out to everyone. Using the powerful, but quiet
"Turbine" blower assembly, Buffalo Turbine developed the first self
contained trailer mounted Model KB Turbine Debris Blower and the 3 point
hitch Model P-Tornado (Hurricane/PTO replaces the Model P-Tornado). In
November of 1996 the first Model KB Debris Blower unit was sold locally to
Jerry Martin at Wellsville Country Club. The autumn season in the Buffalo,
NY area provided us with some exciting demonstrations to the golf course
superintendents.
Buffalo Turbine's main office is located in Gowanda, NY and Our new
manufacturing and assembly plant is located at the Horschel Brothers
Precision machine shop facility in Springville, NY. Buffalo Turbine produces
a variety of powerful commercial "Turbine" debris blowers and sprayers that
will produce up to 10,000cfm @ 175mph.
Buffalo Turbine has shown that the efficiency, versatility and quality built
into all Our Made in USA products continues to be recognized by Our 80 plus
Turf Equipment Dealers in the USA, Canada and overseas.
A few exciting areas where the Buffalo Turbine Blowers have reached are
Superbowl XXXIV, XXXV and XXXVI, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, IHRA drag
strips, Toyota and Honda automobile test tracks, and Pebble Beach, CA.
Hundred of Golf Course Superintendents, Landscapers, Cemetery groups,
Racetrack owners, municipalities, construction companies, including the
clean up of bike paths, sports facilities, parking lots and parks are some
of the areas uses for Our Buffalo Turbine Debris Blowers.

Jack Darbyshire started Darbyshire Machine in 1952 doing repair work for
farmers in the Mesilla Valley of southern New Mexico. Being a farmer
himself, and having a Mechanical Engineering degree from New Mexico A&M, it
soon became apparent to Jack that there was a need for better-engineered and
better-built farm implements.
Beginning with a harrow and then a bed shaper, Darbyshire Machine soon began
producing a full line of agricultural implements for both irrigated and dry
land farming. Over the years Darbyshire Machine soon began producing the
best engineered and best-built farm equipment in the business.
Now more than ever, each farming dollar counts. Darbyshire Machine's farm
equipment maximizes those farming dollars with durability, reliability and
serviceability.

Began operations as a farm shop in 1978 for repairing Elkridge plantation's
own equipment. Prior experience in machine work and fabrication along with
the gradual accumulation of machine tools, began to interest farmers and
commercial interests for repairs and modifications to various equipment.
This scenario existed for several years until 1989 when Tensas Machine and

time equipment was purchased for the manufacture of a line of U-Bolts for
the agricultural industry. These are still being marketed to equipment

Fabtek started as a diversified heavy steel fabricator. In 1986 we began
developing and manufacturing forestry products, starting with 1st generation
harvesters including shear heads, saw heads, & stroke processors.
In 1992, we introduced our 1st generation 13" & 16" 4 roller controlled fell
processing heads with computer measurement controls. Since its initial
introduction into the lake states, sales spread rapidly into the northwest
U.S. and Canada. Sales in the continental U.S. and North America continued
to grow steadily. Now Fabtek is one of the premier harvester/processor
attachment choices.
In 1994 we introduced the Fabtek 18" 4 Roller Processor. In May of 1996, we
completed a major upgrade in the measurement system and computer of our 18"
model, discontinued the 16" model, and combined the best features of both in
the Series 2000 18" 4 Roll Processor. Major upgrades include diameter
measurement, and independent measurement wheel options, encoder readers and
the Series 2000 Computer with second generation measurement system. All
FABTEK heads use Deere hydraulic cylinders exclusively.
Also introduced in early 1996 was our SG-240. This is a single grip
directional felling head with a 24" capacity and a second generation
advanced computer measurement system designed especially for this unit.

Riley Manufacturing is known for bringing innovative products to the market
that allows loggers to increase production while lowering operating cost.
Many of these innovations have been outlined in throughout Riley's
literature as Riley Exclusives. How does Riley continually come up with
these new product programs? Simple-they listen to the needs of loggers and
design products to meet those needs. Additionally, Riley uses technology as
appropriate, but does not add cost or complexity to a design when it is not
necessary. This philosophy has assisted Riley in bringing endurance and
simplicity back to the woods.

Stan Leach Timber Inc. has been in the logging business since 1977 and has
developed some attachments for their own use to enhance the capabilities of
their own logging machines. In 1997, they decided to put their unique
clamshell bucket on the market, after others expressed interest in it. The
company manufactures a clamshell bucket and a brushrake that are custom made
to fit all models and sizes of logging grapples to easily convert your log-
loading machine into a more versatile tool in fifteen minutes.
The clamshell bucket is made of mild steel with cutting edges and is used
for digging ditches, cleaning stream courses, cleaning out culverts and
ditches, cleaning out skid crossings, placing rip rap, and loading rock from
a borrow pit. A three foot wide bucket made for a 60" grapple holds
approximately two-thirds of a cubic yard and weighs 850 pounds. Mill yards
are using the bucket to clean out sediment ponds and drainage ditches.
The brushrake is made of T-1 steel, is 52" long on one side and 48" long on
the other side, weighs 1650 pounds for 60" grapple size and can be used for
cleaning up logging slash, making dirt free slash piles, clearing brush,
placing rip rap, and moving other debris.
